Access Statement

Pre-Arrival

We are located beyond Bestwall Road in Wareham. Parking is situated in the courtyard to the east of the house.

The nearest bus stop is 500 meters away, at  Wareham High Street. Buses run every hour but less frequent in the evenings.  

The nearest mainline station is Wareham a mile outside of town, 20 minutes walking distance with bicycle paths.

Taxis are available at Wareham Station, although we are happy to book one in advance if required.

We regret that we cannot accommodate pets.

Arrival and Car Parking

Check-in and a warm welcome is from 16:00 pm and departure by 10.00 am. Earlier arrivals and departures can be arranged in advance. We can offer assistance with your luggage and there are ample parking facilities.

 

Main Entrance and Reception 

There is a gate and beyond that a small step of 12cm deep that leads to a garden door. There are two more steps both 5cm deep leading to the main entrance of the house, in which there is the reception room for guests to relax after a long journey and check in.
The front door may be locked on arrival so please knock loudly. You will then be given your own key so you may enter and leave freely. 

 

Public Areas - Internal

The property is very large on two floors. Although tall ceiling height, due to the original features of the farmhouse there are a number of low beams so please mind your head if you are of height.

Through the reception room the kitchen diner. In an open plan style, the kitchen is at the far end of the room with the dining area at the opposite. This room is only accessible when breakfast is being served.

Breakfast will be served between the hours of 8.00am – 9.15 am (if you require your breakfast earlier please ask in advance). Any special dietary needs also need to be pre-ordered.

There are 14 stairs in the reception room leading to the landing of the second floor. Our guest rooms are situated on the left-hand side of the house from the landing.

The first room on your right is the Tamworth room, our most spacious double with en-suite.

Next on your right is the Hampshire room, a double with large en-suite.

Then in front of you is the Landrace room, a generous twin room with spectacular views from a large window.

There is a step down into the bedroom and the en-suite is straight ahead.

All rooms will contain an informative guest book for your reference.

Each of our guest rooms and en-suites has picturesque views out of each window, looking across our own private lakes.

In case of spillage or breakages please inform me as soon as possible so every attempt can be made to limit the damage and to maintain the safety of everyone.

The house is generally heated throughout by thermostatically controlled radiators and timed to be on twice a day 6.00am-8.30am and 3.00pm-10.00pm for your comfort. Should you require the heating outside of these times please request it from Jenni.  

Lounge/Reception

Here in the lounge is a three seated sofa two tub chairs and coffee table. Here you can relax and browse through our literature of the surrounding attractions or chat with other guests. Light refreshments also available upon purchase.

 

Public Areas - External

We have an outside space for our guests to sit and enjoy the tranquility of the garden. Please be aware that access is only permitted within the fenced area. Smoking is not permitted internally but permissible in the garden area (please use ashtrays provided)

The property and it's surrounding farmland is home to a variety of farm animals, many of which will free-range around the garden areas. The garden area is frequented by chickens, ducks, a pony, two domesticated goats, dogs and cats - all very friendly. In other areas the farmland may be rented by local farmers or businesses for the keeping of livestock, including cows, sheep and pigs - these areas are secured and the animals will not be within close proximity of the property or garden areas.

 

Additional Infomation

There are smoke detectors on all floors and also fire extinguishers at hand. Information will be available to you in your guest book on evacuation procedures when necessary.
